Hermes Keyword Planner
Hermes Keyword Planner is a keyword research tool that uses the Google Ads API to retrieve keyword ideas and historical keyword metrics for SEO, content research, and market analysis.
Hermes Keyword Planner is currently used internally for research and development. Access is currently limited to authorized research team members while technical verification and API compliance review are conducted.
Purpose & Google Ads API Usage
The primary purpose of Hermes Keyword Planner is to supply empirical search demand signals to the editorial and market research pipeline at ChopsReview.
How Google Ads API Is Used
The application interfaces with the KeywordPlanIdeaService and GenerateKeywordHistoricalMetrics endpoints of the Google Ads API. It programmatically submits search phrases and retrieves aggregate query demand statistics to evaluate editorial topic interest.
What the Tool Does NOT Do
Hermes Keyword Planner is strictly a read-only research utility. It does not create, modify, manage, or automate advertising campaigns, ad groups, or keywords in Google Ads accounts. It does not manage budgets or incur advertising spend on behalf of users.
Core Research Capabilities
When operational for research tasks, Hermes Keyword Planner queries the Google Ads API to extract standardized keyword metrics:
Keyword Ideas
Discovery of relevant seed query variations, semantic phrase expansions, and related product terms.
Average Monthly Search Volume
Normalized 12-month search query frequency for primary and long-tail keyword queries.
Historical Monthly Search Data
Month-by-month search breakdown to distinguish seasonal buying trends from sustained interest.
Advertising Competition Index
Relative commercial advertiser density indexed on a standardized 0 to 100 benchmark.
Top-of-Page Bid Ranges
Low-range and high-range bid indicators used as proxies for query commercial and transactional intent.
Geo & Language Targeting
Audience segmentation targeting specified geographic territories (countries/regions) and languages.
Data Privacy & Security Governance
Hermes Keyword Planner adheres to strict least-privilege access and data hygiene policies:
- Transient Processing: Keyword metrics obtained from the Google Ads API are processed in volatile memory for the specific research task and are not retained as individual user tracking profiles.
- Zero Data Brokering: We never sell, lease, exchange, or transfer Google Ads API data or user information to third-party data brokers or advertising networks.
- Credential Isolation: All OAuth tokens and API credentials are kept in encrypted server configuration environments with restricted access.
- Transparent Governance: Comprehensive details regarding our data collection, retention, and security policies are published in our full policy document.
