2.2 Research Query Inputs

When interacting with keyword research forms, users or internal operators submit search queries, target country codes, and language parameters. These parameters are processed in real time to generate analytical keyword metrics.

2.3 Authentication & OAuth Tokens

For tools requiring authorization with third-party developer platforms (such as the Google Ads API for Hermes Keyword Planner), authorization tokens (access tokens and refresh tokens) are processed exclusively to authenticate API calls made on behalf of the authorized research account.

3. Google Ads API & Google OAuth Disclosures

Our application Hermes Keyword Planner connects with Google APIs. In accordance with the Google API Services User Data Policy, we explicitly disclose our practices regarding Google data:

3.1 Google User Data Accessed

Hermes Keyword Planner requests scoped read-only access to the Google Ads API (specifically endpoints under KeywordPlanIdeaService and GenerateKeywordHistoricalMetrics). We only request permissions necessary to query keyword ideas, monthly search volumes, competition density ratings, and top-of-page bid estimates.

3.2 Purpose of Access

Google Ads API data is retrieved strictly to perform keyword research, assess search term popularity, evaluate topic demand, and inform editorial prioritization for ChopsReview publications.

3.3 How Google Data Is Used & Stored

Transient Processing: Keyword research responses received from the Google Ads API are processed transiently in memory for the requested research operation and are not intentionally retained as persistent user profiles or personal tracking databases.

No Campaign Modifications: Hermes Keyword Planner does not create, update, manage, or alter Google Ads campaigns, ad groups, targeting parameters, or budgets.

Credential Protection: OAuth client secrets and refresh tokens are stored in private, restricted-access environment configurations and are never exposed to public client-side code.

3.4 Prohibition on Selling and Unrelated Sharing

  • We do NOT sell user data, Google account information, or Google Ads API data to third parties.
  • We do NOT transfer Google user data to advertising platforms, data brokers, or information resellers.
  • We do NOT use Google Ads API data for personalized advertising, credit assessment, or commercial profiling.

4. Data Retention and Deletion

Because ChopsReview Tools does not operate consumer user accounts or persistent user profile databases, we do not retain identifiable personal data from public tool visits.

For authenticated Google OAuth sessions used by internal researchers:

  • Access tokens are short-lived and expire automatically.
  • Users can revoke access granted to Hermes Keyword Planner at any time through Google's security settings at https://myaccount.google.com/permissions.
  • Upon token revocation, all ability to query Google Ads API through that credential ceases immediately.
  • You may also submit data deletion inquiries to privacy@chopsreview.com.

5. Information Security

We employ standard security controls to safeguard data and application infrastructure:

  • Encryption in Transit: All communications with tools.chopsreview.com and upstream API providers are encrypted using Transport Layer Security (TLS/HTTPS).
  • Least Privilege: Access to internal API keys and production deployment configurations is restricted to authorized operations engineers.
  • No Persistent Sensitive Data: Financial information, end-user passwords, and unrelated Google account contents are never requested or stored.

6. Third-Party Infrastructure Providers

We rely on established technology infrastructure partners to deliver our services:

  • Hosting & Content Delivery: Vercel Inc. provides static site hosting, edge caching, and serverless infrastructure. Vercel processes request logs in accordance with their privacy policies.
  • Google APIs: Google LLC provides Google Ads API services and OAuth authentication mechanisms subject to the Google Privacy Policy.

7. Children's Privacy

ChopsReview Tools is designed for research, content strategy, and technical utility purposes. It is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
